Camayah Visuals is a photography and video studio in Cambridge, MA, run by David and Iris Matthews. We work with the nonprofits, cultural institutions, and civic organizations shaping Greater Boston. We create event photography, interviews, brand campaigns, and websites that show what their work looks like and why it matters.

We learn how your organization runs
before we learn how it looks.

A gala. A graduation. A three-week mural install. A program milestone that comes around once a year. We find out what the day actually depends on before we ever pick a lens: who has to be there, what has to get captured, what the material needs to do once it’s delivered. That homework happens before the invite goes out, not during the event.

We Know Our City.

David was born and raised in Cambridge, and he and Iris spent fifteen years running a local business here before building Camayah Visuals. That taught us something that travels. How to earn trust inside a community, how to work around real programs, real people, and full schedules, and how to become part of the story instead of a crew passing through.

Because this is our community, we are not photographing strangers. We know what it takes to fill a room, run a program, or build something worth showing, so we know which moments actually matter and which ones to wait for. People are comfortable with us, and that comfort is what makes the work feel true instead of staged.

We bring that same presence to the nonprofits, institutions, and businesses building Greater Boston. This is home, and we treat every place we work like it matters, because it does.

It starts in Cambridge, where our roots run deepest. Our work supports the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Community Center, Central Square BID, Cambridge Arts, Cambridge Local First, Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House, Street Theory Collective, the CITI Team, and AIDUS Arts Initiative.

From there it reaches across the region, with organizations like the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association and BostonMan Magazine. You will find the finished work on their websites and social media, in campaigns and donor communications, presentations, impact reports, and organizational archives.
